Vampire Cowboys: “War Is F**king Awesome”

Vampire Cowboys was founded by alumni Qui Nguyen and Robert Ross Parker of the Ohio University School of Theater. The Vampire Cowboys Theater Company creates wildly innovative performances filled with stage combat and influenced by comics and action films–making them one of the hottest theater companies in New York. Their mission was to create and produce pop-culture infused action/adventure live performances.  With these unique influences they created a form of theatre that they coined “Geek Theatre”. The company’s work is not only wildly entertaining and viscerally theatrical, it is also politically and socially aware work that often gives voice to under-represented minorities and women in slyly subversive fashion.  Nguyen and Parker return to create a new production for the School of Theater called “War Is F**king Awesome”.

“From NY’s OBIE Award winning Vampire Cowboys comes the story of Unity Spencer, a young female warrior who finds herself fighting in every American conflict from the American Revolution to present day and onward. Utilizing VC’s unique pop-culture aesthetic, the show explodes with fights, multimedia, and maybe even a few robots. The company that first started in the halls of Ohio University and then quickly rose to be one of NY’s most lauded companies returns to Athens to blow up The Baker stage once more!”
